Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a healthcare service that supports movement, functional ability, and quality of life. A physiotherapist assesses the patient’s functional ability, sets rehabilitation goals, and designs an individual exercise program.

Physiotherapy is used to treat musculoskeletal problems, for post-surgical rehabilitation, and to maintain functional ability in neurological diseases. Treatment may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and pain-relief methods.

A physiotherapist works closely with physicians and the rest of the care team. Kela-funded rehabilitation is available for people with long-term illnesses under certain conditions.
