Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a physiotherapy method in which acoustic pressure waves are sent to a pain point to promote tissue healing. The method is especially effective in treating prolonged tendon disorders.

The most common treatment targets are tennis elbow, Achilles tendinopathy, calcification in the shoulder, and plantar fasciitis. Usually 3 to 6 treatment sessions are needed, and results begin to appear within a few weeks.

Shockwave therapy is especially suitable for situations where conservative treatment has not been sufficiently effective but surgery is not yet being considered.
