Sports physiotherapy
Sports physiotherapy is intended for athletes and people who exercise regularly. A sports physiotherapist assesses the injury mechanism, creates a rehabilitation plan and helps return to full training safely.
Common treatment areas include muscle tears, ligament injuries, overuse injuries and overload conditions. A sports physiotherapist often works closely with a doctor and coach.
Prevention is a key part of a sports physiotherapist’s work: muscle imbalances are corrected and technique errors identified before they lead to injury.
