Pelvic floor physiotherapy
Pelvic floor physiotherapy treats urinary incontinence, bowel emptying difficulties, pain in the pelvic area, and pelvic floor muscle weakness. The treatment is suitable for postpartum rehabilitation, menopausal changes, and after prostate surgery.
A pelvic floor physiotherapist performs a functional assessment and guides exercises that strengthen or relax the pelvic floor muscles as needed. Training is effective both before and after surgery.
Treatment is often more effective than medication for mild and moderate urinary incontinence.
