Occupational therapy

An occupational therapist supports people who have difficulty coping with everyday activities due to physical, psychological or cognitive reasons. Treatment is suitable for children, adults and older people.

Treatment may include assessment of assistive devices, planning home modifications, hand rehabilitation or training cognitive skills. Occupational therapists often work in a multidisciplinary team with neurologists, physiatrists and doctors.

Occupational therapy is especially useful in rehabilitation after stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis and developmental disorders in children.
