Psychophysical physiotherapy
Psychophysical physiotherapy combines care of the body and mind: it specializes in body awareness, stress management and the treatment of bodily effects of traumatic experiences.
Typical clients include people with depression, anxiety and PTSD who have physical symptoms such as tension, pain or breathing difficulties. Methods include breathing exercises, relaxation and body awareness exercises.
The treatment complements psychological or psychiatric care and can be especially useful when mental stress appears as physical symptoms.
